We started with the app, where pilots could book, pay and unlock the vehicle all in one simple place, but we decided that it was not customisable to suit aviatiors constantly changing factors.

The website is easy to navigate:
- Pilots first register with their details to prove their identity.
- After registration, you can book and cancel as much as you like, with no cost!
- You only pay after your booking is over.
We aim to make it as hassle free and as flexible as we can, to suit the variable conditions and weather windows faced by kiwi pilots.

Why Was Groundwings Created?
New Zealand is home to many unattended and isolated airports. With no transportation options once on the Ground.

The modivation to create Groundwings came from a flight to Glenorchy to make the most of a sunny day. Once on the ground, there was an idea to try and get some lunch in Glenorchy. After multipule attemps at hitchhiking and trying to find a ride, we gave up and got back in the plane.

That sparked the idea behind Groundwings, so we set out to create a service which provides vehicles at airports for pilots. Click the arrow to the right to continue.
