User Terms and Conditions

 

Groundwings Ltd provides an online car sharing platform primarily to benefit those within the aviation community by providing convenient transport at various aerodromes around New Zealand. 

The Groundwings platform is only a platform to provide this service and does not take any responsibility to any vehicle bookings unless the vehicles are owned by Groundwings itself. 

Groundwings will provide vehicle owners and users with assistance and advice, if requested, in order to ensure the booking of the vehicle is successful and to a satisfactory standard. 

As a user I understand that if I am unsatisfied with a booking for any reason I may bring this up with Groundwings however the fault is primarily due to negligence on behalf of the vehicle owner. This is to protect and not tarnish Groundwings reputation due to error and negligence on someone else's behalf.

 

Groundwings claims the right to make adjustments to these terms and conditions at any time.

 

As a Groungwings User, I agree that I have read and understood the following terms and conditions. 

 

1. All Groundwings users must provide the following documents and information before they are able to book a vehicle

• Full drivers licence

• CAA Pilots License, CAA Identification or RAANZ Certificate 

• Full Self Portrait Image (Selfie)

• Contact information

 

2. All Groundwings users must be over the age of 21.

 

3. Users understand that Groundwings is only a booking platform and the vehicles are the responsibility of the vehicle owners. Any issues with the vehicle must be communicated directly with the vehicle owner. 

 

4. Any issues with the vehicles or bookings are the responsibility of the vehicle owner and Groundwings is only the booking platform the vehicle owner has used. 

 

5. In the case of any accidents or damage to a Groundwings vehicle there is a $1000 insurance excess.  In this event the user will need to communicate with the vehicle owner directly.

 

6. Each vehicle does have AA RoadSide assistance, with towing covered up to $200. Any charges or additional costs for towing must be covered by the user, unless an unavoidable mechanical breakdown is the reason for towing. 

 

7. If the breakdown was avoidable or driver-induced, a callout fee will be charged to the user and is payable onsite by Eftpos or Credit. The fee amount is dependent on location and time of day.  

Groundwings is not liable for these costs.

 

8. If the user has to purchase a part/parts for a vehicle in the event of a breakdown, in order to continue their journey, a photo of the receipt must be kept and sent to Groundwings or the vehicle owner. The user will then be imbursed the cost of the part purchased. 

 

9. Any additional fees or fines (i.e parking tickets, speeding fines) will incur a $25 admin charge in the instance it is sent to who the vehicle is registered to (vehicle owner.)

 

10. All vehicles will be returned to the exact location the booking was started from. If the vehicle is not returned to the same spot without adequate reasoning the user may incur charges or be removed from the Groundwings platform. 

 

11. Vehicles must be returned with a full fuel tank at the end of each booking. If a vehicle is not returned with a full tank the user will be charged $0.4 per km driven. If a user arrives at the vehicle booked and it does not have a full fuel tank, the user must inform the vehicle owner.

 

12. Vehicles must be returned at the end of a booking clean and tidy. There is a $200 cleaning fee if the vehicle has not been left in a satisfactory state at the end of a booking. If a user arrives at the vehicle booked and discovers the vehicle has not been left clean and tidy from the previous booking the user must inform the vehicle owner.

This includes but is not limited to:

• Rubbish left behind

• Dirt or stains

• Smoking in the vehicle

• Fuel spills

 

13. Vehicles may be fitted with a GPS tracker as a decision of the vehicle owner. This will allow Groundwings and the vehicle owner to see;

• Distance travelled 

• Route travelled

• Driving habits : speed, braking, cornering.

 

14. Groundwings has the right to remove and/or ban any users or cancel bookings at any time, without explanation.

 

15. Groundwings will not tolerate abuse of any form and will result in being removed/banned from the website. 

 

16. If a user is found to be dangerously operating a vehicle, placing themself, others and/or the vehicle at risk. They will be removed and permanently banned from the Groundwings platform. 

 

17. All vehicles must only be driven by the person whose name the booking is under and only driven on listed public roads. Any breach of this may result in the user being taken off the Groundwings platform.

 

18. Groundwings will provide a refund or cancel the invoice for a booking in the case of weather, vehicle issues or any other event that may affect the vehicle usage within reason.

 

19. Diesel vehicles incur an extra charge if driven over 50km from their original location. This charge is $0.78 per Km. The user will be reminded of this when booking a vehicle and is included in the vehicle instructions after a booking is made. 

 

20. A user may deactivate their Groundwings account at any time and all data stored will be deleted.
